Stills, the spirits bar

An exceptional piece of craftsmanship in a limited edition

From the most experienced craftsman to the apprentice, the transmission of know-how has been at the heart of the workshops and the philosophy of Maison Philippe Hurel for more than 110 years.

Each year, the Coulombs Furniture Factory, Philippe Hurel’s manufacturing entity, welcomes and professionalises the excellent craftsmen of tomorrow. Thus, for several decades, in our workshops, the gatekeepers of each of our crafts have trained and supported young professionals with the desire to pass on their experience and their passion for excellence.

Quentin Halle is one of them ...

Quentin Halle

Having started at Philippe Hurel’s manufacture with an internship in carpentry during his professional baccalaureate, Quentin favored workshop training. He then began training for a cabinetmaking diploma in the region and took part in the competition for the best apprentice in France. He obtained various departmental and regional distinctions.

With the recognition of his peers, he began a "Brevet des Métiers d'Art" (BMA) while continuing to work in the workshops of the Coulombs Furniture Factory. Quentin's apprenticeship will be completed throughout these six years of collaboration, from cabinetmaking to machining, from finishing to assembly, including installation and shipping. In 2021, he graduated with a diploma in craftsmanship techniques.

He designed the spirits bar project, associated with obtaining his diploma, under the demanding direction of Sébastien François, Workshop Manager for the Cabinetmaking section and Terence Mesguich, Artistic Director of Maison Philippe Hurel.

Stills, the spirits bar

A series limited to 7 numbered copies

Inspired both by the Art Deco period and the geometric work of Piet Mondrian, the spirits bar named Stills aims to accommodate the most precious bottles of its happy owner.

Dressed in rare woods that are associated with the different alcohols carried: American walnut for an exceptional Bourbon, Japanese elm for a finest Japanese whiskey...

A frame and a base in brushed solid brass frame the 5 volumes containing the precious bottles and the necessary for their tasting.

The compartments are also inlaid with this luminous alloy, highlighting the contours of the bar, which forms a delicate trompe-oeil when revealing the cabinet from the front.

The opening of the door of each compartment triggers a subtle lighting that highlights the collection of spirits.

Brass and precious woods are complemented in the center of the bar by a luminous alabaster insert that shines like a talisman.

Without a doubt, Stills, the exceptional spirits bar created by Quentin Halle for Maison Philippe Hurel is a true gem.

We would like to thank Christofle, Moët Hennessy Diageo and Château Arton for adorning the Stills spirits bar.
