Even though cabinet-makers had been branding their furniture with hot irons for several decades, it was the parliamentary edict of 1751 that required the latter to stamp their creations and productions with a hot iron. This tradition is followed by Philippe Hurel, who hot brands his chair frames with his trademark.
The Philippe Hurel "seal", which is affixed at the last moment after quality and compliance controls, guarantees the authenticity of the piece.
