Maison Philippe Hurel is particularly committed to the choice of woods it uses. The selected species are the result of extensive research to find the best sources in an eco-responsible approach. Macassar ebony comes from Indonesia, rosewood from Santos, and white ebony from Laos. All these species can be produced with a matte, satin, or glossy finish.

Tamo, also known as Manchurian ash, originates from Asia and is characterized by a striking, three-dimensional grain pattern. This unique pattern is created by a specific growth habit and the circular porosity of the wood. It is available in a natural finish and in a shade called KURI (chestnut in Japanese). As with all the shades you might desire, Tamo lends a unique and poetic character to the pieces in the collection that incorporate it.
